Nice. You can fold it up and put it away once you're finished writing gay poetry.

So what you're saying is that it's going to be there forever?

[–] 2 pts

It will probably break from overuse in few weeks.

I have a couple of those. They can take some punishment. I have a table saw attached to one and another I just used to stain and oil and brand new butcher block.

A desk is better than no desk.

Congratulations on your new place.

No cat, is not perfect.

I have that same desk and have been using it for years.

Nice floor boards and crown molding too and ambient window view. How's the rack you were assembling when we were on the phone

[–] 2 pts

The rack is nice, I will show you later, but the bed is all fucked up man. I bought a full sized hybrid spring and memory foam mattress from Walmart, it said a lot of shit on the box, talking about how great it was, but the one thing that stuck out to me was it said

No Box-Spring Required!

and I was like, whoa, that is a bold claim, but mattresses sure have come a long way since I was a kid, they didn't use to come in vacuum sealed boxes, that's for sure, maybe they figured out a clever way to get around the box-spring.

So I buy the mattress, and I buy a cheap metal bed frame, and I get to lugging that heavy-ass shit back to my house, happy I didn't have to buy a box-spring.

Regardless, I assemble the bedframe, unbox the mattress, and test out the claims.

Let me tell you, it sure as fuck needs a box-spring, or at least some sort of board. So now my bed is on the ground, like some sort of peasant, until I find a solution to this problem.

But whatever, life is good, I am glad all I got to worry about right now is a box-spring.

The "No box-spring required" mattresses are meant for frames that are daybeds or bunk beds. They won't work with standard bed frame that is just a metal rectangle.

Yuppers, on a solid wooden frame it would work just fine.

This, or Ikea/Europe style slat bottom beds.

I'll take one on the train for you . Alternatively remove the mismatched wood from beneath stairs for a baseboard and hope jews don't crawl out

powahstripp (pic8.co) I use the smaller version of that table with one of these spaced outlet power strips for plugging in all the random stuff.

[–] 1 pt

That is a nice power strip. it sucks that the outlet and the coax cable hookup are on opposite ends of the room.

[–] 1 pt

Ugh. That's irritating as all getup.

It looks very portable.

Not sure of your story, but my house has makeshift desks. Slap a found piece of wood on there. https://vid8.poal.co/user/SoSickOfBlacks/wsBhP6u

Well on its way to being a cozy place! Good job!

May want to look into getting one of those flat, clear rolly-chair mats for under your chair. The wheels will be scraping up that wood in no time, and the wheels getting stuck and turning funky from hitting a seam in the wood is irritating as hell.

It's also easier to sweep and wash the plastic mat when dust and crud accumulates so your chair rolls smoothly.
