I’ve seen that before in an outdoor covered shop floor, but they infilled between the manhole covers with motorcycle and larger type roller chains. It was pretty cool.

Knew a guy that made a walkway around the side of his house out of tombstones he found in the local dump. "C'mon and look at the new walkway I put in. Cost me nothing.", he said with a big grin. It looked great from a distance, but as we got closer, the more you could see what those flagstones were made from. When you got right up to them, you could read the names. "I'm not walking on THAT fucking thing!", I said with horror. He just laughed and waved his hand at it. "You should see the pile of them down at the dumps. Most of them are busted to pieces." The bastard only did that to get a reaction. The walkway only lasted about a month.
