Nice. I need to find a rotator for a hexbeam I have that sits at one direction until I climb up and move it... :/

We were talking about that as we walked out. One of the guys was trying to find a motor to interface with the equipment he had.

Yeah, they're expensive or rare. Sucks.

Learning ham radio is on my very LONG list of things I need to learn. It sucks I only have so much time and only so much brain space.

The technician license is pretty easy to get if you have any kind of electrical knowledge.

> if you have any kind of electrical knowledge.

See, this here's the problem. I'm a jack of all trades, but every. single. time. I try to mess with electricity I get shocked. I simply don't try anymore. I'd rather pay someone.

Hmmm. Well, the tests are all pulled from known question pools, so if you have good memorization you should be able to pass the test.

Guess none of these guys mind a bird flapping its wings all over their computers...

Damn who gagged down all that shitty coffee? Folgers, Manor House, Maxwell house. All robusto sour trash coffee.

shitty coffee

Is there any other kind? No.

Envy you man. Wish I knew how to use that radio equipment. I have a little Baofeng that stumps me every time I try to use it

Those stupid things can be arcane to use. I had to buy the programming cable for mine.

Yeah I got one too. Did help in terms of putting some stations in. I don't know how useful it'll be, even in a SHTF situation. I really want a Shortwave radio, but that is REALLY hard to use, and I have a lot of Wifi pollution around me

[–] 1 pt

Shortwave isn't that useful these days, there's not much on those bands that's worth hearing. A good quality receiver that has a good AM section will probably do you better.
