I was not expecting this lamp to be electric. Very cool find!
That is nice! shade is better than I'd have expected.
It's made of bird skin.
Run out out anti-psychotics again?
Oh you're one of those fowlcaust deniers. Reported.
The back is moisture damaged and has some discoloration, looks like it was dirty and may have been stored in a damp place, so the water wicked the dirt into rings. Front side is acceptable enough for use.
It's in really nice shape for a 50s piece, no chips in the plaster eagle. Usually the things aren't worth the copper in the lamp cord.
Deals at estate sales are the best on the last day. You can usually buy stuff for pennies because they just want it gone.
Cute! You definitely just gave away your age though.
Americana meant birds. I like birds. It's in my name.
It's sitting on a 1920s record cabinet.
Nice. Good memories of several lamps like that I had while growing up. They had the same shades with the screw on eagles to secure the shade, but had different posts/stems/bases or whatever the main lamp part is called. Have one on a dresser right now with that same shade with the base that's like a giant gold-plated (and worn/flecked off) candlestick.
That's pretty cool
Nice alarm clock
That's a ratshack weather radio / time receiver. No clock, the dial on the top is a "world time calculator" like those perpetual calendar discs that banks gave away as promos in years past.
Very cool. How much did you pay?
It was $60. I've seen these in similar condition for 80-100, all of the prices at the show were a little depressed.
Awesome. I definitely would purchase that for $60. Great find.
It's literally one of the few I've found over the years that wasn't smashed. Guy wanted $65 originally, but everyone there that I bought something from was willing to bargain, one guy even offered me a better price before I could ask.
