It's what Germans do.

58 degrees. I had to have google convert it.

This is a big part of the problem with Metric -- it's not made for humans. Temps between 0-100 F are useful for human beings to know how it will feel. -17 to 37 isn't nearly as useful. I can remember that when I need to measure boiling water or ice (which isn't often) that it's 212 and 32 (at sea level), but to make that "easy" with metric you end up having to use three digits (for the 10th) in C to tell what fucking temp to set the heat at.

Americans never use decimal temps, because the scale we use is actually adapted to human comfort. Oh, and I set my heat at 62 in the winter anyways, because my wife is half German and because 62 isn't cold. At 58, I'll just put on a hat.

The post was made in jest and who cares about degrees C vs F, I don't. Comes natural when you grow up with it. It's not about the thermometer but the books.
