Sorry for your loss. Cats are mysterious and wonderful. They only love those who appreciate their beauty and fierceness.

Wrong. I'm allergic to their hair so every cat I ever come across makes it a point to jump on me, purr, and force snuggles upon me while flinging their tail in my face.

That's not love. They know what they're doing.

its actually not the hair that cause the allergie but the spit and mucus they use to clean themselves.

Losing a pet is tough. Sorry for your loss.

I've buried three German Shepherds over the years, one was a K9 unit dog. Just buried them in the ground like you (make sure the hole is deep).

The kids were closer to them.

Now I've got an expensive cat that I'm getting close to cause we're always together.

You got me worried about getting too attached.

I had a cat of such quality. As a ragdoll, she kinda loved everyone, but she would come to me when called. All the great parts of a cat, and she had some of the qualities of a dog too.

Sure, be worry about becoming too attached, but don't devalue the relationship by pulling away, to avoid future pain. Accept the pain as the bill for the love and companionship.

It'll hurt even more, in the long term to be alone, without even the memory of a worthwhile companion

Accept the pain as the bill for the love and companionship.

That's a higher class of comment than perhaps we earn. That's nice. Thank you.

Yeah, very well said, couldn't agree more, and thanks very much.

He's a Persian cat. Been over forty years since I had a cat, any cat.

My gsd will be 19 in October, gonna buy him a big steak for his birthday

Nice. Mine didn't last to 15. His hips were going out and you could tell it was time. He had an appetite on the last day. So he got some grilled cheese sandwiches. The vet came over and gave him the shot. He went and laid down under his favorite tree with my family around him as he dozed off. Perfect and only way he deserved to go.

Wow! Mine didn't last that long, not really close.

Only the best of God's creatures. God bless his fuzzy little soul and may he rest in peace. So sorry for your loss Theo K.

I have had 5 cats for 18 years. One for 20 years. I lost them all since October 2021 and August 30 2022. I found the last one “Normy” dead under the bed in the basement 3 mornings ago. My heart is broken.

Took a pic on my phone of your funeral and sent it to my wife, she bought a very expensive Persian cat a few months ago.

Now why you wanna make her cry like that?

But I'm the one getting attached. Not to my wife, I mean the cat.

RIP Mr. Kitty.

Cats are assholes, but they love their petting sometimes and love their treats all the time.

Get another one. Name him the same.

Mr Kitty is dead!

Long live Mr. Kitty!

I'm more of a dog lover but allergic to cats. They seem fickle and aloof to me. My dog makes his love plain.

Iv'e got one just like that. He's a jerk, but a lovable one.

[–] 2 pts

That's as deep as you're going to dig?

[–] 2 pts

Don't tell him he'll dig up the cat and that's going to put a curse on the whole place

Lifetime companion. Best I can do is a shallow grave

[–] 2 pts

Good that you decided to bury him. It's always nice to have a place to visit once the memories start coming back.

Sorry for your loss, he looks like he was a nice little cat.
