AZ has two mineral withdrawal areas, Lynx Creek and Lake Pleasant that are free like that to simple prospecting. Lynx was an area where potato sized nuggets were once found. Another was Rich Hill that still produces good gold, but all private and club claimed. A forty something ounce nugget was found recently there on a private claim.

Have some friends that go to Alaska every summer that do pretty good. Enough that they don’t have to work the rest of the year. It’s a fickled “sport” at best, but it’s a fun and healthy one. Lol, I’ve yet to pay for all my equipment, let alone gas with it, but just get’n out in the wilderness, such as it is these days is reward enough.

Since covid there’s been an uptick in outdoor recreation. I’m in the recreational mining business and we’ve had our best two years because of it. Every business dealing with outdoor activities saw some good revenues. As a result, unfortunately there’s a lot of fuk’n assholes out there now. Leaving trash, toilet paper, fuk’n up the trails fly’n around in their SxSs. Play’n their nigger music loud and late at night. Shoot’n shit up. Digging huge holes and not reclaimating (my word) them. It’s fuk’d up and it’s gonna get shit shutdown worse than it already is. (((They’re))) already look’n for reasons to.

Appreciate the heads up now I got plenty to study so I can plan a trip of enjoyment down there maybe even get lucky and get permission to go beyond open land and get adventurous beyond others.

Never failed to get a little out of Lynx. I’ve seen some nice gram plus nuggets come out of there. We had nearby Rose Creek too, but bums and retards ruined it for everybody so it was closed down. A great many of the idiots have moved over to Lynx. It’s managed by Prescott National Forest. For some reason they aren’t doing anything about the destructive behaviors of some of the guys. It’s almost like they’re letting it happen so that it gets as bad as Rose Creek was so they can shut it down.

Some of the guys have brought everything in there but heavy equipment. Holes you can bury a truck in. So, it’s like do I behave or do I get the get’n while the get’n is good type scenario. It’s (suppose to be) like Cache Creek, pans and simple sluice in the creek up to high water mark. Metal detecting up to high water mark. Too much trash in there for that though. Guys are up in the hillsides pull’n out some nice nuggets from what I hear. It’s generally 80%+ pure gold around there.

Prescott is basically the top edge of the Bradshaw Mts. I-17 would be the eastern edge. Phoenix the southern edge over to Wickenburg back up to the northern edge crossing over Prescott is where you wanna concern your efforts with. Lot of claims and private land throughout to watch out for. BLM and National Forest are good to go if not claimed. State Trust, Wilderness Areas, Game Reserves, Reservations, etc., are no go areas. A good app to have is OnX Hunt, it’ll let you know what kind of land you are on. Thirty bucks a year for a state. Worth it. The Diggings website is good to get a general idea of any claims that are in a quarter section of land. It is free. None of them will tell you exactly where they are. You have to get a claim number and research on the BLM site for the filed papers describing its location and their website is usually inoperable much of the time of course.

For other areas in Arizona, the book Placer Gold Deposits of Arizona is good to have. They print one for Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico too. You won’t find a square inch of land in AZ that hasn’t been gone over by prospectors at one time or another. They didn’t get it all though, but it is get’n tougher to get the placers because of a thirty year drought not stirring shit up. A quad or SxS is your best bet at getting to the places most of the yahoo’s can’t reach. And even then you’d be amazed. Lol, desert rats are hard core fukrs.

All I can think of at the moment. Happy hunt’n!
