Whats the difference between a prop and a screw?

No fucking idea. I just remember in the Navy we always called it a screw and yelled at anybody who called it a propeller lol.

That's one of the most navy answers I could imagine.

Most naval ships have CPPs (Controllable Pitch Propellers) = meaning the blades of the propeller move to control the speed better.

A lot of merchant ships have fixed blades on the prop to cut down on the need for maintenance.
