WTF is all this shit? Just more to fail or prevent you from pouring the gas. Was it so hard back in the old days when it was just a tube coming out?

these things are really dangerous. it's nearly impossible to use them without getting gas everywhere because of the safety bullshit.

Yet another example of "the rest of us must suffer to preserve the existence of morons". Used to be, if you didn't understand something, you asked someone who did or left it the fuck alone.

Everyone now is encouraged to act like an expert on everything, for their own self esteem of course.

Get real Wavian jerry cans with flex spouts

Why? Two reasons:

Morons burn themselves up. You don’t see any “Blitz” branded cans anymore. Why? Blitz got sued out of existence due to the normal spouts on their cans. The lawyers said the spouts should have had expensive flame suppressors in them. The new safety spouts solve the “problem” in a cheaper way.

Second reasons is morons who just leave the open spout on their cans and let the gasoline evaporate into the air rather than resealing the can. The evaporation is pollution. Air (oxygen) in the can promotes gum formation. And the morons wonder why their small engines are so hard to start or won’t start after the light ends of the gasoline have evaporated (needed to start engines) or the carburetor is gummed up after short term storage.

The first thing I do on those cans is to break the safety shit off or get a new cap
