It's honestly easier on the human if you do it when they're like 8 weeks old like Petsmart does, but my vet wanted to wait until she was almost mature (very shortly before she would have gone into heat the first time, I suspect)
I was always told a male clip as soon as they drop and females should always have one litter to bring her mother nature out. Ive had females done before and after and they are way more aggressive towards attackers then ones without. Ones snipped prior need commabds more so then a female that had a litter. A mother female will do without being spoken to and generally spots the danger abd attacks first no time for you to worry shes on it.
