My guess is for anti-coagulation medication but for all I know this is how they make energy drinks. Anybody here on poal with a bigger brain than I know why they are doing this? I tried to put this in askpoal but it won’t let me so im throwing it in pics. Feel free to move this to which ever sub you feel appropriate.

the ones in the pic have been ripped in half

They are just curled up on the stand. You can see thier tail spines sticking out under their noses. Exposes a soft spot between the shell segments.

GTFO! Ive seen them in Florida. There is literally nothing to eat on them. Theyre tiny legs and shell!
