Actually, semi auto is more controllable and cheaper in a firefight. You'll know the locals by their selective shooting and lack of full auto funding.

I'm a cheap bastard, but I don't think I'd be too concerned with monetary cost in that situation. Control is important though.

Cheaper as in less reloads, not having to burn through so much ammo shooting in a less controlled manner. Only hits stop fights.
