Probably piloted by men that our forces trained, and then deserted to join the Taliban. They keep using this figure of 80,000 men for the Taliban- I believe that to be a severe underestimation (or intentionally misleading) figure. A force of 80,000 fighting men requires a significant number of auxiliary support people- someone is herding their goats for them to eat, someone is informing on their enemy's movements, etc.. Then you have civilians who sympathize with them- they should all just be counted among the Taliban. That's probably the majority of Afghans who just want a return to normality, to go back to doing their work and worshiping their god and forget the nightmare that "the (((West)))" unleashed upon them. And if 80,000 of these guys are willing to continue the fight and try to take it to the powers that have been fucking them for the last two decades, that's great in their book.
