Everything in the desert has thorns or the bunnies will eat it. I used to have one desert jack that was like a feral cat type pet. There was an overhang where the foundation of the house made shade. He would come there and sleep. He was about 4 ft tall on his hind legs, so he could get up and eat the good parts.

Nope. The tip is right on the tape. The stem is probably a half inch up. The entire branch was loaded with big fuckers like this.
