If I had to guess there's one or more 2.5 gallon tanks in the Rubbermaid. I did same filling up a couple of 5 gallon tanks a few weeks ago (for mowers) when I didn't want potential splash getting on my Jeep interior and persisting smell.

Think first, mock second.

Dang, all these years filling up my red lawnmower tanks and never considered a Rubbermaid to stop spills. Just drove home real cautiously. In the picture it looks 1/3 filled. Maybe just a shadow. Some nozzles won't work if not inserted in a sealed container. The pump pulls a vacuum to suck back vapors.

That's not how it works. Just pull the collar back to get it to pump.

What does the collar do? My experience is that if the seal is broken between nozzle and gas tank then it soon shuts off. I read years ago that vapors are vacuumed back in attempt to reduce "polution".

Eff those commie gas pumps that require a vacuum seal.

Dude, thank you, I never even thought of that. I did exactly what you described until I read your comment, then I went back to look again. I don't think there are any cans in that tub, about 1/3 of the way up there seems to be a uniform darker discoloration. I don't know though, photo is potato and I am potato. Your point still stands regardless.

Saw that and think it's shadow from a slight change in shape of the container. At least I hope it is.

Can you imagine breathing the fumes from an open, sloshing container of gasoline or the boom that the slightest spark would trigger?

I hope you're right, good god I hope you're right. I would think that would be way too much even for the dumbest of people, but I keep getting proven wrong. I'm not sure what the limit is yet.

Those pants and the fact he can't pump gas without putting the phone down say mock away.... go with maximum retardation scenario in this case.

That's not a he, that's a VERY ugly woman.

For personal safety you have to, there are several red flags here.

I like your idea, good sir, but I think she's just filling up the tub.

The fluid level is clearly visible.

Then she should be leaving the Rubbermaid container in the car and filling the containers separately so it's easier to lift.

Probably. But IF there's 2.5 gallon cans in there they're not heavy.

I am increasingly doubtful there are cans in there. It looks suspect. I just gravitated to that supposition because I used a Rubbermaid as described only a couple of weeks ago.
