These are for the shins (form the knee down to the ankle) not the entire leg.

I'm aware. Presumably the focal point, about 1/3 the way down from the top is where the knee goes?
Those would be better fit on my wrists, but still uncomfortably tight. I assume the rich back then were more wealthy than robust
