I have made it a passion of mine to study the oldest source texts for our history, the origins of our philosophy, and our science
Would love to hear what you think about our origins and what the true history really is as most leads ends with Sumeria, Egypt, or India and then its stitching it together from there.
Please pardon the long reply - I apparently haven't logged into Poal in a Month.

First off, an old saying: reality is stranger than fiction. Most of what I have dug up or found from others' work builds a picture so fantastic, it becomes hard to cope with. Now then:
By true history, did you mean ancestry? If so, this is a complete mess, if you mean recent ancestry (nearer than 5000 years yet older than 600-700 years). If you mean distant ancestry, we are most likely a hybrid of two species, namely the pygmy chimpanzee (now, Bonobo) and the Sus scrofa, common pig, which supposedly explains why everything we don't have in common with monkeys, we have in common with pigs (vasculature, spine, the human vagina is lifted entirely from the pig, pyramidal kidneys, eye colors other than brown, etc). More on this from here: http://www.macroevolution.net/human-origins.html
The key to this understanding is:
- just about any two mammals can hybridize so long as they can have sex, and
- the result isn't 'halfway between one parent and the other', but 'this organ from one parent and this from the other'. There is a compendia of hybrids here, sorted by distance (from interspecies to intergenera): http://www.macroevolution.net/mammalian-hybrids-articles.html
By true history, did you mean of science? If so, this is my specialty, but is also a complete mess, with *zero* records from about 1000 years ago onward - we only have the writings of those who claimed to quote those who came before. Our oldest original records are Persian, who taught the Greeks Alchemy/Astrology/the keeping of records, after which we have 'our' first historical records regarding the development of scientific thought. I can deep dive into this if you want, or into more recent discoveries (e.g. math has been fucked, negative numbers don't exist/aren't real, radioactive decay isn't stochastic, and so forth).
By true history, did you mean of the planet, as it affects our development? I'll deep dive into this if you want as well, but I'm out of time for it now.
