ORIGINAL compression level, over twice as many bytes of quality , (Poal code fucked up the file link submission and tampered with my file) :
https://files.catbox.moe/l737n2.jpg (506,676 bytes, over twice as many bytes as fuzzy 230,982)
s/Pics should NOT recompress pretty girl photos and artwork pictures
EDIT:
I FUCKED UP , like a tard and did not know that Poal site has security features to strip EXIF jpg GPS locations, that recompress swap can be turned off at upload to Poal by user checkbox.
I FUCKED UP AND AM WRONG
Sorry for wasting AOU time.
(Poal code fucked up the file link submission and tampered with my file)
Poal doesn't alter anything when you submit an image. It's probably one of the pic8 hosts that reduced the resolution and compressed it.
I used a link that Poal code subverted. I used https://files.catbox.moe/l737n2.jpg (506,676 bytes)
Unless a FBI man-in-the-middle somehow broke into a secure HTTPS stream for my post submission and swapped my links... it was Poal code more likely.
That's incorrect.
Unless you uncheck the pic8 option in the submit page. when you submit an image to poal, it is not sent to poal at all, but to pic8 (through a private API), pic8 removes exif data (to preserve user's privacy) and submits it to different hosts (catbox is one of them) then replies to poal with a pic8 shortlink and the post is submitted to poal.
When you open that shortlink in the post (through the expando or in a new tab), pic8 redirects you to the fastest host available (at the time of the request). It can happen that a host randomly decides to change the behavior when uploading an image to their website.
Please post the direct link (not the pic8 short link) to the image that has been altered and @picman will take a look at it.
