Our cat passed yesterday after what was a very long and painful night for all of us. Today is the first day without her and we miss her very much. We are comforted knowing that she had a good life and is now at peace.

She is pictured here sleeping on my wife's legs as she would most mornings. At night she would sleep on mine as I watched podcasts or read.

We had a wonderful 16 years together. I am very grateful for that.

Edit: I will try to answer all of your comments personally but know that if I don't I do appreciate them and things are very raw for me right now.

Thank you for your kind words. We had the most beautiful last moments with her and will cherish them always.

After a night of violent seizures and pitiful anguish her last moments were peaceful and serine. I took her to some of her favorite spots in the garden. It was a chilly but beautiful morning. We stood next to a tree together and a bird fluttered by us. I placed her on the ground and she sniffed around a bit and then relieved herself.
