Thats cool. Our local alligator lizards are the northwestern alligator lizard. Ugly little cunts. They give live birth though which is pretty neat. Only other lizard in my area is some kind of skink... western skink i think? With an electric blue tail and lateral stripes on its back. Cool lookin critters. Move like greased lightning on a sunny day, hard to catch.

Wow! I am unfamiliar with this specific species. I so strongly believed it to be fake, but it's posture and position seems much too lifelike to be easily faked.

Very beautiful. I am glad they don't live around here, or I'd have seen mangled pitiful specimen gifted to us by our cuddly little feline house murderers. I admit, I am frequently pretty envious of the impunity with which they get to kill... but they never seem to kill other cats, much to their chagrin, so I guess they share my frustrations in their way. No, I don't want to kill cats! That would be easy for me, as I am far larger and I cheat with these human armaments!
