NGC 5128 (eso.org) called Centaurus A is presently undergoing the transition process from a disc to an elliptical galaxy, when the local or Milky Way Galaxy and relatively nearby M 31 (i.postimg.cc) the Andromeda Galaxy go thru the same process, all three will form a sub cluster (i.postimg.cc) typically seen at the heart of larger galaxy clusters, as per the NASA / Chandra X-ray Observatory shot of Abell 1689 above .. Abell 1689 (simbad.u-strasbg.fr) at Simbad.
