It's slave morality, a collectivist moral system driven by conforming to what they perceive to be the consensus of the immediate members of the group to which they identify themselves. Like herd animals. Good and evil are determined by the perceived opinions of the masses. If everyone else in my clique likes it, it's good, of they dislike it, it's bad, I identify with my faction of the herd, so whatever the most common held idea is among the fellow members of the ingroup I identify as a part of, I'd the idea I myself will adopt without question. If my ingroup changes its mind, so do I. Consensus cracking is this the best approach to take these groups down, to create a rift in the group that causes it to split apart. Those who have difficulty choosing a side would be open to new options. They operate on high school losers logic. Because they are stunted, damaged people whose moral development is stick at the level of using social approval as the standard for moral assessment.
