The world has much wrong and bad in it, but also much that is good and right. The pessimist and optimist are equally blinded.

If in the greater sphere we are meaningless, why does it matter? We mean a great deal of something ourselves and each other, so from our perspective life is chock full of meaning, that's good enough for me, meaning is inherently subjective anyway.

it's why we invented God, do that some greater subjective perspective could give us its endorsement, but them we transfer the burden on seeking external sources of meaningfulness onto God.

Having children is vital, it's a bit of immortality, and humanity is one of the species with the biggest potential for change in the world, I say fuck the planet, the planet isn't capable of being harmed by us, and life is hardy enough to ride out whatever changes could be made to the environment by ourselves. In being so concerned about the planet we've lost sight of the whole reason we cared in the first place, why save the whales? Because we prefer a world with whales in it. It was always about ourselves.

And yes, much potential for bad, but also the opposite, and even the bad has good in it, as it forces us to improve, to adapt, to overcome. Pains and obstacles can be a great boon for us if we know how to use them.
