Peterson's entire philosophy is a contradiction, where it concerns groups and hierarchies.

As far as he is just rehashing Jungian psychology, and the Joseph Campbell mythopoetic material, he is more or less spot on. The problem, of course, is that these hero journey's have a cultural/historical context, which didn't include the Leftist 'sustainable' transnationalism that Jordan supports. The hero is a hero within a culture that is homogenous ethnically, religiously, and linguistically.

When that is faced with a nearly total bombardment, Jordan would have you keeping your head down and stepping 'out into the hierarchy' to get yours. For those of you who have followed along with the cultural engineering through the decades, you'll realize why this rugged individualism preached by Peterson was so timely for this era. The system of control had already been built, and now the pseudo-father figure Peterson is just admonishing you for not going out and assimilating into it, to carve out your individual niche in the chaos. It's pseudo-fascist 'great man' intellectualism, but it's parody, and that's what most of these young guys do not realize. It's bait.

It comes from the same think tanks, like Esalen, from out of which we got the Alan Watts phenomenon in the 60s. At that point, the cultural narrative was war-protestant experimentation in open societies, free love, and drugs. That moves you two decades later into the metallic androgyny and decadence of the 80s, to the decade of prosperous distraction in the 90s, followed by the 20-yr war on terror. Follow the pattern. Peterson came along at a time where he was necessary to gate-keep disenfranchised young white men from truly responding to their predicament like the European races traditionally have. Instead, he convinced you everything was too complex to get a grasp on, so focus on your bedroom and go get your little house on the hill, bucko. It's not about anybody else. It's about you, and white people shouldn't recognize themselves as white. Don't you dare name the Jew!
