I'm sorry, I get this is an outrageous price, but if you need it to live you can come up with 500 dollars , what the fuck.... @Titus_of_Voat

I was thinking the same thing. Even the shittiest of credit cards can get $1000 limit. I hope they sue them into the next world but he could have prevented his own death. If I were him I would have at least a $1000 reserve just in case of something like this happening.

Inhalers don't last for very long if you have severe and chronic attacks. They could have scraped up the money, but what about next time, and the next time, and the next time?

Survival is the ultimate motivator. No joke, I'd rob people for the money if I knew if I didn't get it I would die. Perhaps we've been bred to not to survive, but NOT this mofo.

A White man would get arrested, go to jail and be denied his inhaler in the cell and would die just the same way in jail. At least his family would be more likely to win a settlement from that scenario. It's not that we've been bred to not want to survive. We're still acting like we live in a high-trust White society that supports our own kind. The problem is that society hates us and still we try to play by the rules that no one else does and we pay the price for it. Lurker17 is a good example of a person who would rather die following principles than go against a corrupt system that exploits that. When the system is broken, there are no valid rules.

the Walgreens pharmacist should have contacted Cole's physician about alternative treatments, but failed to do so.

Usually there are suitable alternatives which are covered and that is why one med is denied. It does not sound like he took any initiative to investigate that. My thinking is if it is really that urgent, come up with the money and figure this out after. Yes Walgreens should have helped him, but ultimately you are responsible for yourself.
