This is yet more bribes to legacy media. The ads don't even matter. They simply need a way to buy the media's compliance.

Huh. This is the correct answer. Took me a minute during the covid madness to figure this out. It's just a bribe, you're a hundred percent right.

Then, after 50 seconds of science-y science set to Freddie Mercury, the ad makes a quick and awkward pivot to a girl in a hospital bed, with the strange phrase “LetsOutdocancer.com” slapped across the screen.

Um, is it just me or is (((Pfizer))) saying they want to "outdo" cancer, i.e. be a bigger killer than cancer is? Pairing that tagline with the imagery of the kid says they really are coming after our children. That's some real chutzpa there. We all knew they are evil. This ad and slogan really does make that abundantly clear. These monsters need to be at the head of the line when the rope starts being put to long awaited use.

You have to shed a tear whenever they bring out the little cancer kids especially when they have their little masks on, come on now. Ok so for this Pfizer ad, this kid still has her hair and no mask. I went ahead and looked at the website and the first flashy low information blurb tells you Pfizer wants to have people WITH cancer to live better etc. So no worries, you'll still have those little cancer kids WITH cancer.

How can we prolong thier life so they buy more meds?

The ad ends as the girl walks out of the hospital. Exactly what role Pfizer or its medicines played in her cure is left to the viewer’s imagination. This isn’t about products, people! This is about feels. And science. And how science makes us feel!

Having worked in pharma I can tell you this is 100% true. Pharma companies can't make claims in ads anymore. They lied so often in the past that even the FDA had to put limits on them. DTC Pharma ads are all about convincing someone they are suffering and need a pill.

And, of course, spreading cash across the various TV networks...
