I used to attend some fan conventions, and there was always this unwritten "You guys leave the place a mess." That was sort of true, but for the most part everyone respected the hotel because we wanted to come back next year. One of the conventions I attended, the hotel bid us a fond farewell and thank you. (parent corp abandoned it.) Business conventions, on the other hand, always leave the hotel a mess. At least we weren't dragging in street hookers and cocaine. Don't even get me started on the military officer ones, they took any excuse to party hardy.
