We are like 50 years behind the Russians in terms of “socialism”. People don’t understand what it was really like and how different things are already, but it will take time for the culture to heal.

Growing up my dad worked with a bunch of Russians at various machine shops and they all said that everything was designed to break you mentally. Booze and drugs were a big problem but were secondary to the psychological warfare waged on people in every aspect of life. You literally had to run away and live in the woods like a hermit to escape it.
