Veteran of the American Revolution. One of the last six surviving veterans of the Revolution and one of the few veterans of that war to have his image photographed. He was born near York, Maine (then part of Massachusetts). He served in Col. Samuel McCobb's Massachusetts Militia for six months during the Revolution. He was buried on his farm overlooking the Head of Penobscot Bay near present day Belfast, Maine. ∼William Hutchings was one of the oldest living Revolutionary War Veterans he is buried in a small cemetery on the Farm were he lived and died.
