I can see what's going on here. The Gates development is right in the middle of a block of houses owned by other rich people -- but none of them is as rich as Gates. His development is much too large to fit into the community, which will be effectively destroyed by it. No wonder these self-entitled, egotistic money bags are pissed off. Gates is cutting into their property values, and he's shoving his wealth and power in their faces.
