And to think they'll cost hundred of thousands just to be kept alive in a cell and for what? What's the actual point? Why should they even be released in the wild after that, especially after spending decades behind bars? It's not like this is going to result in any sort of improvement

Yeah they'll suffer and have to live through it that's the only upside, but I'm talking about the cost here. If the point is just to make them pay through suffering for what they did, there are much cheaper solutions, such as a hole, a big hole and you leave them to starve to death in there with other maniacs like them at the bottom of it. It's not going to last very long, it's going to be very painful, and all that at a very low cost https://youtu.be/cAacE5ukzrs?t=202

Something something life is sacred or some shit. All over the world people are jailed instead of... Alternatives. Maybe because there is money in incarceration and the proprietors of evil in this world love a sure thing.

Banks love to lend money because that's what banking is all about, so there's that. That's also one reason why we have crazy budget spending on stupid shits all over the place, see , as long as the debt is served that's all what matters

But I digress, because there's more to it than "just that", because it fails to explain why the notion of "anything but killing those fucks" itself gets a pass, in the first place. After all, no matter what's the "banking incentive" there are ideas you just can't sell to any random ethnic group/society, example; you won't sell pork to muslims, don't even try, you won't even make them pack pig meat or accept a pig farm let alone a pig meat processing factory on their soil, fugget' bout it.

So, one could place the blame on christianity, culturally speaking, with this notion of redemption, everybody gets a second chance to infinity sort of stuff essentially, and "life is sacred" as in we're all made in the image of god etc...

Yeah

Life has to be sacred otherwise you and I are just products ultimately, cattle at best. And I also believe that, there has to be a "red line", beyond which there's no more nothing, it's breach of contract; you negate the other you negate yourself. I mean offenses deemed worth more than 20 years behind bars, especially when there's no room for doubt, give me a fucking break. Just dump the motherfucker in the hole ajnd call it a day
