Jokey protest signs are retarded and they downplay the seriousness of the issue. The reason why they are popular among leftists is because the left is incapable of arguing persuasively in favor of their beliefs so they resort to using social cues to essentially peer pressure people into agreeing with them by convincing them that "they don't belong" if they hold a different opinion.
This is the same reason why people like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Jamie Oliver, and Trevor Noah have jobs doing what they do. It isn't to be humorous and it isn't to be entertaining, it is to heap derision on anyone who doesn't share their employers political beliefs in order to manipulate their viewers into conforming. Leftists try to emulate these tactics with their silly jokey nonsensical protest signs in support of their retarded opinions. People with good reasonable opinions should not resort to the same tactics.
Jokes are the foot in the door to get the conversation going. Leftists rarely even tolerate this if it's the wrong topic. The right can support their argument if pressed, but the joke is necessary to get people to even give them the time of day, else the left will continue to plug their ears and pretend like there are no consequences for their chosen path.
It's not that jokes are bad. The situation is that, as usual, only the left is allowed to use them.
Humor is a gateway.
It's truth wrapped in ky jelly and often fun to shove it up their asses.

But they do employ another manipulation technique under the guise of comedy. And that's arrogance. Its the number one rule in mind control.
