This is a fantastic blast from the past to see how controversial daytime television operated in the '90s. Also, it is clear that Phil Donahue is an A level smear artist and shill. By presenting the situation in the way he did while also stacking the audience (and questions) he diffused the controversy heavily and smeared and villainized the people coming out. This is a real lesson in subversion to see how crafty it can be and recommend watching for at least that.
