Reminds me of the stories of the Russians at the Paris air show where the rusky concord drove right into the ground.

Part of those events is the excitement and looking forward to the pilot going up in flames gloriously in some way, and even if it doesn't happen, you get to see ace piloting in action first-hand. Either way, it's good entertainment.
