Written by Graeham Goble, who stated "A girl (I never met) inspired "Lady" when she danced in front of Mississippi at the Matthew Flinders Hotel, Melbourne 1973." Mississippi was the name of an early version of the band who, over the years, had over 30 members since their formation. None of the musicians now performing as Little River Band are original members, nor did they contribute to the success the band had in the 1970s.
