This studio demo released by Zylo Records (USA) sometime in the mid 90s is part of what was recorded by Manson at Universal Studios, Hollywood on September 11th 1967.

Manson seems quite unprepared and nervous in the talkback sections in between songs but it was only his second ever demo recording session, the first of which for Uni/MCA Records took place a couple of months earlier in June '67.

These sessions form the basis of what became the "LIE : The Love And Terror Cult" album. The album recording sessions took place the following year on August 8-9.

Manson re-recorded several of the demo tracks and others with "The Family" as his "band" laying down overdubs on a lot of the tracks on the second day of recording.

The only tracks on the album from the two original demo sessions are "Look At Your Game, Girl" and "Eyes of a Dreamer" from the June '67 session, and "Sick City" from this Sept '67 session. .

MSV says, "he has that Willie Nelson feel but way darker.. really great material Charlie Manson!!

PB says, "I don’t know how someone who has spent 40 years in a prison full of serial killers can make so much sense."

JD says, "If it wasn't for Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys we wouldn't know who Charles Manson was .. he was a damn good songwriter and a damn good singer too."

I must agree Manson's music has a "good feel," too bad he ran off of the rails.
