It's not a great version of this song, but it was technically his biggest hit, in that he made money from it for awhile there and got to live in the Venice beach that existed back then, which was sort of cooler than it became and is, but it was still kind of similar in weird ways just because it is wot it is. He was cool and kept mostly doing his thing until the end... but his health was getting to him and I didn't hear from him for awhile there. Turns out he died. I hate when that happens. His last couple bands were more dance hall / vaudeville act type things, which are still kind of pretty much the same thing really. He liked to dig up old hundred some year old sheet music and play the songs his way [generally faster / sillier]. Shindig was cool. I forgot all about it until seeing this again! I wonder if reruns in better resolution than this vid can be found.
