Many hours listening to this song in Eddie's Snack Cave.

I just thought the phrase "Bye-Bye Miss American Pie" was sort of appropriate for today. The day our country died.

I saw Don McLean live in a small venue around the time this came out, in Moorhead, MN. That was where Buddy Holly and the others were headed on the Day the Music Died. Still the best one man show I've ever seen.

That's pretty damn cool, great memory. I have a friend who lives around his area and has had coffee a couple times with him. Says he's a really nice guy.

My other story related to this is that I was friends with family members of Bobby Vee's wife and in-laws. I got to spend some time socially with him on a few occasions. He got his start when he and his group filled in for the guys who died in the plane crash.

You've been very fortunate. What fun. I hung out with Nugent for about an hour after a show. I was drunk and since he doesn't I don't think he thought very highly of me. Oh well, his loss, I'm a great guy :).
