Connoisseur definition is - expert; especially : one who understands the details, technique, or principles of an art and is competent to act as a critical judge

I agree to disagree if you insist. I just know what I like when I hear it, dont dissect it.

That just sounds so pretentious and snobby. I can headbang to MC5 and The Ramones and can appreciate the pure emotional "rapture" of getting swept away by raw energy of some bands. I'm sure it's much the same with people who love cars or guns.

I love cars and firearms and music, you seem to especially love music and appreciate its nuances. Dont try to refute your knowledge. Haha I have posted MC5 a few times. never appreciated.

You do seem to have a wide variety of styles of music. You post a lot of tracks and artists I've never heard and while most is not my style, I do hear some I enjoy and I appreciate that. I don't know why but somewhere in the early '80's I just didn't hear much I could get into. Culture and "The Industry" seemed to ruin it for me with their attitude of producing product regardless of the talent, both in composition and musical skills. I feel very fortunate to have been around for the 2 decades when something new and inventive seemed to come out every week. I know there are still some artists around who are still fresh and exciting but it seems so much work to wade through it all now. It seems as soon as someone puts out a hit that's popular, they clone it and mass produce it to sell as much as quickly as possible.

Add to all that our brains change as we age and are more rooted in the music we have during our younger years. Music, like smells, are powerful triggers of emotions and memories and our ages of self-discovery are embedded with those. It's rather amazing.
