You do seem to have a wide variety of styles of music. You post a lot of tracks and artists I've never heard and while most is not my style, I do hear some I enjoy and I appreciate that. I don't know why but somewhere in the early '80's I just didn't hear much I could get into. Culture and "The Industry" seemed to ruin it for me with their attitude of producing product regardless of the talent, both in composition and musical skills. I feel very fortunate to have been around for the 2 decades when something new and inventive seemed to come out every week. I know there are still some artists around who are still fresh and exciting but it seems so much work to wade through it all now. It seems as soon as someone puts out a hit that's popular, they clone it and mass produce it to sell as much as quickly as possible.
Add to all that our brains change as we age and are more rooted in the music we have during our younger years. Music, like smells, are powerful triggers of emotions and memories and our ages of self-discovery are embedded with those. It's rather amazing.
I actually havent progressed beyond the 90's. I dont know and couldnt tell you any bands really beyond staind and koRn that I really like. I do search for and look for shit though, and of course from my dad some roots are in country.
