Y'all might not remember Dion Dimucci, but he was a major influence in Rock just prior to the British Invasion. Maybe you've heard "", "" or "", or 1968's "".

In April 1968, Dion experienced what he identified as a powerful religious experience. After getting clean once again from heroin addiction, an experience he documented in his 1970 song "" and for the next few years, Dion's music became radically different, moving to more contemplative and mature material.

In 1989, DiMucci returned to Rock and Blues music and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that year (with a moving introduction by Lou Reed). At 80 years old, he has just released a new album with many notable artists contributing and paying tribute.
