My memory of the song from when i was a kid is different. I thought it was a happy, pro-America as long as you are willing to try number. Anita & the girls are telling their bitter brothers they should go back to PR if they hate the US so much. So I just re-read the lyrics - man, how you interpret them at 11 vs 57 is interesting.
