Figured I'd save you the trial and error I went through.
Sciatica sucks. My first experience with it. Literally couldn't walk. Couldn't lay down or sit. Only relief was standing and that just took it from an 8 to a 4-5. Meds no help. Ice and heat no help. Chiropractor no help. A lot of other sciatica stretches and exercises would temporarily take it down a notch or three, but only for a few minutes.
I'm almost back to normal less than 24 hours after doing their suggestions. I'm going to gently begin a core exercise program tomorrow or the next day, trying to make sure I don't go too fast. I know the issues I have stemmed from my last pregnancy and never realigning my body through targeting core strength.
If you don't have sciatica, make sure you're doing varied exercises that hit everything so you don't end up tweaking things in the wrong way. I do a lot daily and I'm not weak, but there were muscle groups that were coping for weak ones in my lower back and it is surprising it took this long considering how much I lift, push, pull, on a daily basis.
Don't wait until you have a problem. It sucks.
