After considering this insipid ChatGPT nonsense and trying to explain it to my friends and neighbors, I came to the conclusion all of us have been living in a Potemkin village for multiple generations. As I allow my mind to wander around, a bit, I'm imagining that 1913 isn't too far back.

Consider ChatGPT, it's totally fake. Then I asked myself, what's actually real around me? My family, things we built, a couple of friends (maybe) and then I couldn't think of anything else.

Yes, our toxic overlords have managed to make everything else as fake as ChatGPT. Yet on the surface, things kind of appear real. Seriously, you don't even know if what you're reading now is written by a real human or a fucked up AI. I recently heard deep fake machine generated text to speech from someone who was experimenting with it. It was so real sounding, I realize that you could have an interactive conversation with a computer algorithm and wouldn't notice it right away.

This is creepy shit! Now imagine what the evil kleptocracy is silently capable of, yet not acknowledging. Friends, we are neck deep in shit. I'll stop here.

Yes, this is important. How I'm thinking is that there will be a time when videos will be completely useless. As you say you will only be able to trust what you directly perceive. Perhaps you can extend your knowledge of your area by having a contact net of trusted sources but only if they are also the kinds of people who only trust what they perceive directly. If they trust videos then they can no longer be trusted.

Seems (extreme) localism would be the only thing that could work in the future. Remember in 1984 how there are pictures of Big Brother friggin' everywhere? Then later in the book it seems like maybe he doesn't even exist... Orwell knew. Really, how could one know that the leader even exists in a fake world, unless one lived in his proximity and have met him, knew him, personally?

I hope I'm wrong.

Fuck Joe Biden being a prime example. We already know there's a fake whitehouse set. Logically, what's the point? Giving the illusion of the whitehouse when people know it's fake?
