I wish I knew then what I know now. Namely, if you want to buy a home with a pool and there are trees in the yard, consider the direction of the prevailing winds. I think the best circumstance would be the winds come from over the house, across the pool, and blow all the tree debris away from the pool.

Not knowing that then, I now must net out a shit ton of leaves in the fall. In the spring it's pollen and everything else that falls out of a tree that kicks in the algae growth as the weather starts to warm. And all year it's dirt and dust in general blown in from the yard. It's basically a year round pain in the ass, regardless of how nice it is when it's stupid hot outside.

If you've got the cash to spend on a pool maintenance guy, you'd likely still save money on the chemicals it takes to maintain a pool bombarded by tree debris.

Pools are a pain in the ass whether you have trees or not.

So many people have them though. I mention it because I'm thinking of getting a house with a pool. Maybe I shouldn't. But it's summer here half the year.

So many people have them though.

Because removing a pool properly is very expensive.

You think that many people who have a pool regret it, would have them removed if affordable?

Sounds like here in Tucson, more pools than Cali more boats than Florida. Arizona is a weird place.

It really is, and back in the early 70s I will remember it as the place where my acne cleared up.

Some people love the desert, I do, dunno why though.

Just put a sprinkler out on the grass and run through it... and water your grass at the same time. ;-)

Funny, I have a garden I'm watering every day cause it's so hot, and was thinking of buying a sprinkler for that (if I do I'll be running through it lol).
