Why would zelensky choose the west with its "our way or be stripped of your wealth, and die", versus Russia's "give up the fight, and live out the rest of your days as you already were, with no other demands from us."?
Give zelensky leverage, and as shameless as he is, he'll likely piss off the u.s. occupation and israeli regimes, by negotiating for more.
Drives wedge between him and his western backers.
Put a deadline on the offer in order to double down on the pressure.
Just an idea.
Just the presence of such an offer, would go to show that russia isn't "out to destroy ukraine's leader" and by extension "isn't out to destroy ukraine". It would destroy the narrative that zelensky is actually in charge in ukraine and expose the west as running things, more than it already is.
