Discussed the possibility before, that hiroshima and nagasaki were actually firebombings and not nuclear bombings. Not here to go into that, except to say, what if nuclear weapons aren't real? Would explain why the orion project was cancelled eventually.

Also would explain why iran hasn't managed to make them, despite billions poured into the project .

Makes me wonder why they don't cheap out and salt regular missiles with radioactive materiel.

Hundreds of times cheaper, and just as threatening as the real-deal.

what if nuclear weapons aren't real?

The Cesium-137, Cobalt-60 and Strontium-90 (and other radionuclides) that contaminate the above ground test sites would like to have a word with you.

For sure, but are you certain those are only produced in nuclear explosions?

How certain are you? And who told you these facts?

Kodak was able to detect the nuclear tests in New Mexico, because their raw film was getting ruined from background radiation of the blasts. They actually got the government to pay for their losses, and the government agreed to warn them when the tests would be done.

Lets suppose I am the u.s. government for sake of a thought exercise.

I need to invent the next "big lie".

It is a trivial matter to have a company, many of which are tied at the hip to said government, sue my regime on pretext. It is trivial to lose that law suit. It is trivial to let my international opponents see this case, when their own intelligence agencies might be questioning the veracity of the bomb-- and lead them to believe it is the real deal.

Believe only half the things you see, and none of the things you hear.

Nukes are fake.

We used to have a special team, in the US military that specialized in neutralizing nuclear assets of other countries and the teams kept finding inoperable devices.

I would love to see some discussion and/or links to this.

I don't think anyone is allowed to talk about it.

Basically, there are nuclear "special response teams." Their bosses treat them like cockroaches... fed shit and kept in the dark. Usually, they defend nuclear homeland sites, but there are offensive versions and missions that happen.

Basically, all the Hollywood movies you see where black market nukes are a problem are totally bogus because they have specific teams to deal with it. The reason they don't show these stories is because these types of teams (to my knowledge) have never found anything operational. Even during the Cold War, when they went to sabotage Russia's nukes, they came to the conclusion that Russian scientists must be sabotaging their own nukes because they couldn't find any that worked.
