Most people believe Hitler banned guns, just like most people believe the Germans whacked 6 gorillion jews. Just one fucking lie piled on top of previous lies.
German troops did not have their weapons neutralized (firing pins removed or similar) and did not have their ammunition taken away prior to a viist from Hitler. Think about that--Hitler moving freely among fully armed troops.
