Zero for me, too.
I was loading data from a cassette tape, I should be -1.
Shit, I had an Atari 2600, a Commodore Vic 20 and a 2600 even before my Apple IIe with a tape drive.
Man, I had an original pong machine too. It was like 5th hand at that point but it still worked ;)
Loaded data to my TI-99/4a… or tried to. The tape deck never quite worked right.
The deck had a counter on it, so you'd know how to line it up right. It worked okay for me. Took long AF though.
It's amazing to think that floppies and CDs have disappeared, but tape drives are still VERY widely used
I still use cd's/dvd's sometimes to work on old hardware and still have a burner setup. It's not common but when I need it, it works just fine. I think I bought the drive like 14 years ago.
