Almost 3 weeks weed free. Just gonna go to bed. But damn, just wanna smoke. I’m stronger than the drug. I post because if I “say it out loud” it shames me to adhere. I will conquer. Good night.

Have a good night. Don't do the thing.

I read that some supplements help with that. Maybe order some 5-HTP.

I didn't do the thing, and am not shameful this morning. Thanks for the words.

Don't smoke weed.

Remember why you quit.

Remember who you were when you decided to quit.

I didn't smoke the weed. The funny thing is, I didn't have an AHA moment and decide to quit. It just dawned on me about a week and a half into not smoking for no apparent reason that perhaps I could forego it altogether. Thank you. I quit the hard liquor, now gotta quit the beer once I master the weed thing.

I don't know if you are a real addict/alcoholic, that is something only you can ever determine. But you might want to attend an AA meeting just to listen to their stories. It doesn't help everyone, but they have helped me.

Also, there is huge variation in the quality of AA meetings. If you end up at a bad one, don't judge all meetings because of it. The first meetings I went to were absolute garbage.

Funny. I'm using weed to not drink

I thought that was what I was doing as well, but turns out, I just added weed to my drinking. One vice at a time. I've all but cut out the hard stuff, working on the beer now. Weed just makes me lazy and eat too much, regardless of the strain. I'm happy to report I did not give in. Good luck, Butler, with your no drinking.

Funny, I never thought about this song in that way, but yes, good bye Mary, good bye Jane. Thanks.

Remember, that drug isn't your friend. That drug wants to destroy your life and kill you if it can.

Considering I’ve pretty much consumed it off and on for over 40 years, it’s not been very good at killing me yet lol, but yea, I know what you’re saying. Last night was just hard. Today? No desire. I’m striving for no desire ALL the time.

Strive for it, yes. Expect to get there, not so fast. It's like sin. You constantly mortify sin. You don't expect to ever be free from it in this world. If that temptation gets removed from you, hallelujah. If not, that's our lot.

Did you win?

Indeed I did. It was hard, but I was gratified this morning.

There is a real benefit to adding more time and distance between you and your last use.

For me, in the thick of addiction to alcohol, I couldn't see how crossed my wires were in my head. Time unravels those wires. That is the healing that occurs as a result of not using.

Eventually for me, there was a tidal shift of clear thinking and peace which replaced the obsessive compulsion.

Keep it up, and give time a chance to reward you.
